Projekt Kugy

In February 2015, speedriders Dominik Lindebner and Stefan Stockinger set out for an unprecedented adventure. Their destination is the imposing Kugy Couloir at the 2645-metre-high Jalovec, ever since an eye-catcher for alpinists in the Julian Alps. Following the footsteps of Julius Kugy, the most important explorer of the mountain range, they dare to try and undertake this endeavour in wintery conditions. Ice and snow make the climb in the couloir difficult but in their minds the two speedriders are already far beyond the rock formation. In their backpacks two gliders, each measuring only eight square metres, wait to be put to use. Dominik and Stefan want to try something that has never been done before: flying down the couloir at its narrowest point.
